HOW DO I APPLY TO THE CBC INSTITUTE POLITICAL TRAINING "BOOT CAMP" PROGRAM?
Applicants to the program must submit a completed application, along with a $25 application fee (one-time, non-refundable fee). Checks should be made payable to CBC Institute. If you are Nominated by a Member of Congress, the application fee is waived. In addition to the application, the following items must be submitted:
- One letter of recommendation from: your employer or a professional in the politcal field (elected official or state party chair), or local chapter of your NAACP, Urban League, or similar organization. Please note your letter of recommendation can not be provided by a relative.
- A professional resume which includes summary of political and issue advocacy activities
- A current 3x5 photo
- An essay of no less than 500 words stating your reasons for applying to the program.

Written confirmation from the Boot Camp Director will be sent upon receipt of your application, and you will be notified of the decision on your application by no later than June 11, 2010.

FEES:
Application Fee: $25.00 - non refundable - This fee is waived for applicants nominated by a Member of Congress.
Program Fee: $2,000* covers the cost of Program Materials, Instructions, Supplies, Housing and all meals for the period of the program July 10 to July 18, 2010 and is due within 10 days of acceptance notification.
Cancellations and Refunds: Program fee will be refunded - less a $100 processing fee - if cancellation is received 15 days prior to program start. Any cancellations made after the 15 day period will be subject to an assessment of 50% of the program fee.
*Limited Scholarships are available to applicants not Nominated by a Member of Congress, subject to demonstration of financial hardship.
