CBCI has partnered with the Walton Family Foundation (WFF) to offer four new Advocacy and Campaign Training (ACT) Workshops in 2019 in New Orleans, Atlanta, Denver, and Los Angeles. These ACT Workshops will target future leaders who are passionate about civic engagement and advocacy, including those interested in education policy and improving access to high quality educational opportunities for all Americans.
The WFF’s generous investment will allow the CBCI to train, inspire, and prepare a more diverse group of tomorrow’s leaders with a passion for civic engagement, policy, and advocacy. Program graduates will receive ongoing training and development through a new alumni program.
Since 2003, the CBCI’s training workshops have trained tomorrow’s political leaders and armed them with the expertise to succeed and impact all areas of civic engagement, from school board to national office. This nonpartisan, interactive training features cutting edge workshops in leadership, communication, fundraising and voter engagement. The pinnacle of this program is the campaign simulation in which participants fill specific roles required to develop and lead a candidate or ballot initiative campaign. Today, there are more than 600 graduates utilizing their skills on campaigns and as leaders in their communities.
